For the first time, Arby’s is being featured at the 2008 Oregon State Fair. Arby’s takes pride in serving delicious, wholesome food made with the finest quality ingredients in every sandwich, salad, and side item they make. At Arby's, great taste and quality ingredients can be part of a well-balanced diet, and they offer a nutrition and ingredient guide to help you make the proper choices for your dietary needs.

You can find the Arby’s food exhibit booth in our Sports, Health, and Rec area by the Beach Volleyball courts. Check them out for a healthy alternative. Watch for coupons at the gate for savings at their booth.

Arby’s is also a proud sponsor of one of the Beach Volleyball courts.

Arby’s will be offering their line of “Market Fresh” deli sandwiches as well as information on their catered lunch box services.

Adult Beverage Area

Great microbrews, good food and big fun are on tap at the Backyard BBQ and Beer Garden (Adult Beverage Areas). Located near the Picnic Grove State, the Adult Beverage Area is the perfect place to listen to Oregon musicians and brew up a little excitement.

August 22 – 24 North end of the Picnic Grove

On Friday, August 22, 2008 more than 35 professional cooking teams will take over the north end of Picnic Grove at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Teams will battle for three days and three nights during the 2008 Oregon State Fair.

Oregon Fryer Commission’s Big Cluck Grill-Off

Watch as cooking teams from county fairs battle for statewide bragging rights and great prizes on Saturday August 23, 10am to 4pm. Cooking teams will heat things up on the north end of the Floral Garden as they compete for big Traeger Texas BBQ Wood Pellet Grill and $100 certificate for free Oregon Chicken. Just beyond the grilling competition area, visitors will enjoy wine patio with live entertainment in the floral garden.

Special thanks goes to the Oregon Fryer Commission and Traeger Grills for their generous support and help in coordinating the grilling events. The Oregon Fryer Commission is providing all participating counties and the State Fair with great Oregon chicken for grilling and all categories of prizes, including a Traeger Wood Pellet Grill, at every participating county fair!

County Fair to State Fair Competition - Sunday, August 24, 2008 near the Floral Garden

The Oregon State Fair is proud to announce the Painted Hills Natural Beef Grilling Contest. Painted Hills Natural Beef has generously agreed to sponsor this fun and exciting competition that will begin at participating county fairs and culminate to state fair competition on Sunday, August 24, 2008 near the Floral Garden.

Grilling teams will be provided with Painted Hills Natural Beef for grilling, team gifts, great prizes at all participating county fairs and the Oregon State Fair!

Mr. BBQ of KXL Radio will be on-hand at many of the competitions to provide grilling demonstrations just prior to the competitions. Mr. BBQ may also broadcast his weekly ‘Cooking with Mr. BBQ’ show on KXL radio from many of the competitions.

Advancing to State Fair - Each county fair’s winning entry will automatically qualify for the Oregon State Fair Championship. The County Fairs second winning entry will be the alternative contestant.
