August 23, 24 - Disney Under the Stars

The 2008 Oregon State Fair and Bi-Mart presents “Under the Stars” show featuring Radio Disney AM 1640 on the L.B. Day Amphitheatre with Your Music Your Way. Performances will include music from the Jonas Brothers, Disney Channel Original Series-Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, The Cheetah Girls, High School Musical, and many more. Radio Disney AM 1640 Portland is a 24/7 radio station devoted to kids, tweens, and families. Kids help pick the music that is played and are encouraged to interact via a toll-free line to the Radio Disney studio. The network’s current playlist, driven by listener requests and representing major record labels, includes recording artists Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Corbin Bleu, Raven-Symone, Mithcel Musso, The Cheetah Girls, Jordin Sparks, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Daughtry, and Carrie Underwood.

There will be two shows - Both shows at 7pm:

  • August 24 - L.B. Day Amphitheatre - (Disney Under the Stars is the main act, the Show is FREE with your Fair admission ticket. )
  • August 23 - Pavilion (Disney Under the Stars is opening for Vanessa Hudgens)

29th Annual Wine Celebration Oregon

August 22 in the Hart of the Garden - The 2008 Celebration Oregon will provide patrons the opportunity sample over 200 wines and taste hors d’ oeuvres from 10 Oregon Chefs. Celebration Oregon! is held opening night of the Oregon State Fair Friday, August 22, 2008 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm in the beautiful Hart of the Garden.

This $45.00 ticket includes fair admission, wine tasting and hors d’ oeuvres, and a $5.00 donation from each ticket sold will benefit Make-A-Wish Oregon Foundation. There will also be a silent auction to help benefit the Make-A-Wish Oregon, along with prizes, and a fashion show walk through, which will be a pre-cursor to our Imperial Stock Ranch fashion show the following day.

Dia de la Familia

Dia de la Familia - August 24 and 31

Join us Sunday August 24, and Sunday August 31, 2008 for Dia de la Familia! Fair goers will experience Mexican culture through arts, live entertainment, authentic Mexican food and a Jaripeo (Hispanic Rodeo) to end the evening of family fun. Festivities will continue through out the entire day at the Oregon State Fair!

Jaripeo

Jaripeo - Hispanic Rodeo - August 24

A Jaripeo is a form of rodeo held in small communities across the vast cowboy country of Northern Mexico. The singular event is usually bull riding with men, boys and occasionally even young women compete to ride the wild bulls. Live DJ music will be provided by La Gran D, sponsored by Bustos Media. Banda Jerez and Banda Soñadora will be performing along with other entertainment. The Jaripeo is sure to be full of fun and excitement!

Held in the Historic Horsehow Stadium, doors open at 4:30 pm with the rodeo starting at 6 pm.
