Knecht's Flat Track Racing

Sports Health & Rec

New to the 2010 Oregon State Fair is flat track dirt racing! This newly designed 320 x 180 oval track is sponsored by Knecht's and brought to the Oregon State Fair by Bob Leach Enterprises. The track will provide hours of free, fun, racing excitement with a different racing series held each night of fair, go-kart rentals during the day and the demolition derby held the last Sunday of fair!

Bring your lawn chair and blanket so you can sit on the new grassy burm enjoy a soda or a beer and watch your favorite racing team each night. Go-kart rentals will be available everyday from 10am - 3pm. $10.00 per ride, which is approximately 20 laps around the track! All safety equipment will be provided on- site for patrons to use.

On the last day of the Fair, Knecht's Auto Parts will be giving away a race car replica go-kart, pictured at right. More details to follow as well as a link with more information about how to win this go-kart.

Marion County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit

Sports Health & Rec

The Marion County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit will be doing demonstrations in Sports and Rec on Kid's Day-  Monday August 30th from  noon - 4pm! Come watch the dogs in action, and get all your canine questions answered by their handlers!

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit consists of eight canine teams; five are patrol teams and three are dedicated completely to narcotics detection. The team has two german shephards, four belgian malinois and two labradors.

Patrol dogs are trained to track for suspects who have fled from crime scenes. They are also trained to conduct building and area searches for criminal suspects, protect the handler and to hold violent offenders from escaping.

The narcotics detection dogs are trained to detect narcotics substances. One is assigned to the Marion County Jail, although, he is routinely called out to assist Detectives with search warrants or vehicle searches to locate narcotics.

The K-9 Unit routinely conducts public demonstrations at schools, churches or community events or for community groups or organizations.

All Oregon Art Annual

This year's All Oregon Art Annual is located in the Hart of the Garden Building in the beautiful floral gardens. Come smell the flowers, taste some fine Oregon wines and see what Oregon artists have created for our show. There is art ranging from painting, glasswork, pottery, metal sculpture and much more.

Have your name written in Calligraphy and vote for the People's Choice Awards. Cash prizes are presentedto the artists who receive the most votes in the Student/Youth, Amateur and Calligraphy Divisions. Voting ends on Friday, September 3 and ribbons will be displayed on the winning artworks the final weekend of Fair. Children can create their own art in our Children's Activity Tent located in Familyville at the entrance to the Hart Building.

Several great adult beverage locations on-site to enjoy an Oregon microbrew or glass of Oregon awarding wining wine. Adults may 'walk around' the fairgrounds enjoying beverages. Several serving locations will be located throughout the fairgrounds.

The Oregon State Fair reminds you to drink responsibly and to abide by all security and state police requests. Alcohol is not allowed through admission gates.

Please respect our 'fair family friendly zones' while enjoying adult beverages and smoking. Family friendly zones include the Carnival, 4-H/FFA exhibit areas, Familyville and Dinosaur exhibit.

For the first time, Rogue joins the Oregon State Fair to create a new food and entertainment area atop the Americraft Center overlooking the entire fairgrounds! The Rogue Roof Top will serve great adult beverages and food from 5 to close all 11 days the fair!

Must be 21 or over to enter during evening 'pub' hours. ROGUE ROOF TOP PUB MENU

The Rogue Roof Top Pub will be closed from 6-8 pm for special Big Show parties on Friday, August 27, and Friday, September 3, and again Saturday, September 4. Keep checking back for more information on how you can win your way up to the Roof Top to these special parties (21 & over)!

Check out the best of horticulture, floral, agriculture, landscaping and farm and garden displays and exhibits from Oregon’s cream of the crop – a.k.a. our kids.

Livestock Show - FFA and 4-H members will show their hogs, sheep or steers to this annual event. Drop by and ask questions about the animals and learn about caring for farm animals. Each student will work hard and spend hours grooming their animals for blue ribbon honors.

FFA Exhibits - Located near the Dairy Women’s Ice-cream booth, FFA exhibits include Ag Mechanics, Nursery, Landscape, and Wool Displays. Drop by their office location and ask questions of FFA Chapter Officers and Members on hand daily.

4-H Exhibits - Located in the 4-H Auditorium on the north end of the Fairgrounds, hundreds of 4-H members entries will be on display! See the 4-H Fashion Revue Show, cooking demonstrations and special interactive Lego Robotics demonstrations.

FFA Livestock Exhibits - The FFA livestock exhibits are here August 27th – 30th, 2010. These exhibits include cattle, sheep, swine, and goat exhibits as well as shows. The exhibits are housed in the 4-H/FFA barn. Please visit the Oregon FFA website for a detailed schedule of all of the FFA activities.
