Free Fair Shuttle
Who says there are no free rides? Not us! Free Fair Shuttle, courtesy of Salem-Keizer School District's Transportation Department, will shuttle you to and from the State Fairgrounds from Chemeketa Community College parking lot. So save time, gas -- heck even the environment -- and ride the Fair Shuttle! Only a 15 minute ride to the Fairgrounds...straight to the gate! Shuttles arrive every 30 minutes... its easy!
The Free Fair Shuttle runs from August 28 through September 7, 2009. Starting at 8 am each day, shuttles will depart every 15 and 30 minutes from the Chemeketa Community College to the Fair. From 8 am to 12 pm, shuttles will depart every 30 minutes. From 12 pm to 10:45 pm (Sunday thru Thursday) and 11:45 pm (Friday and Saturday) shuttles will depart every 15 minutes. Last shuttle leaves the State Fairgrounds at 10:45 pm Sunday thru Thursday, and 11:45 pm Friday and Saturday.
The shuttle pick-up and drop-off locations are in the Purple/Brown lot on the Chemeketa Community College Campus and at the Fairgrounds, in front of the Americraft Center (also known as the Jackman-Long Building) on 17th Street. Shaded seating is available for your comfort at drop-off/pick-up locations.
Cherriots is unable to provide fair shuttle service this year; however, Cherriots provides service to Chemeketa Community College as a major hub location. Ride Cherriots to Chemeketa and catch the Free Fair Shuttle!
Directions to Chemeketa Community College Purple/Brown Lot: From I-5 South, take Exit 258. Turn Left onto Portland Road NE. Turn Right onto Ward Drive NE. Turn Right onto 45th Avenue NE. Purple/Brown Parking Lot will be on your Right.
The shuttle will take you from the Purple/Brown Parking Lot, down 45th Avenue and across Silverton Road, ending up on 17th Street. You will be dropped off right in front of the Americraft Center (also known as the Jackman-Long Building). The shuttle will take the same route back to Chemeketa Community College Purple/Brown Parking Lot.
