The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) provides wildfire protection to 15.8 million acres of private and public forestland, implements the Oregon Forest Practices Act, and manages 848,000 acres of state-owned forests. The agency also provides technical assistance to the state's many family forestland owners. ODF's mission is to serve the people of Oregon by protecting, managing and promoting stewardship of Oregon's forests to enhance environmental, economic, and community sustainability.
