Children's Old Time Butter Making Contest

Oregon State Fair will provide the ingredients; you shake the cream into butter and sample it on crackers. Yummy, yummy, come and enjoy the fun! Open to ages 5-8 and 9-12. First 15 children in each age group to sign up will receive a prize. The Butter Making fun is on September 3 at 4 PM in the Americraft Center, also known as the Jackman-Long Building.

16th Annual Hermiston Watermelon All State Seed Spitting Contest

Spit your way to fame by entering the Hermiston Watermelon Growers' watermelon seed spitting contest. Try out your best seed spittin' form with a seed from a plump, sweet and juicy Hermiston Watermelon. Divisons are Men's, Women's and Youth (8-15 years). Sponsored by the Hermiston Watermelon Growers. Contest is Saturday, August 29 at 5 pm, located in the Americraft Center, Jackman-Long Building.

Oregon Dairy Council's 2009 Milk Mustache Contest

Oregon State Fair and the Dairy Farmers of Oregon provides milk; you provide the moustache. Categories: ages 6 and under; ages 7 to 11; ages 12 to 17; and 18 and over. Tuesday, September 1 in the Americraft Center, Jackman-Long Building.

14th Annual Old Fashioned Corn Shucking Contest

An Oregon’s Best Contest - Sponsored by Santiam and NORPAC Foods, Inc and open to everyone. In the divisions men, women and youth (up to age 15), contestants will compete for the most ears of corn shucked before the music stops! After all the division winners have been named, there will be a Grand Champion Shuck-Off! This will take place on Wednesday, September 2.

Kid’s Dress a Fruit or Veggie Contest

Bring a fruit or vegetable that is dressed for "Too Big To Miss." Categories: ages 6 and under; ages 7-12; and 13-17. Free Admission to the Fair with each entry. Prizes awarded in each category. Entries will become property of the Oregon State Fair. Bring your exhibit to the contest entry booth at the north end of the Americraft Center (also known as the Jackman-Long Building) on Monday, August 31.

The Craft Warehouse Creative Critter Contest for Kids

Crafting fun for the beginner, or experienced kid crafter. Join us for a fun contest and the opportunity to take home your very own creation! Entrants must pre-register on the day of the contest in order to compete. Registrations will be taken at the Contest Registration Table inside the Americraft Center, Jackman-Long Building.

Limited to the first 25 people in each division. Contestants will be given materials and an allotted amount of time to create their critter. One child per entry. Three divisions: Ages 10-13, Ages 6-9, and Ages 5 and under. Critter Creations are scheduled for Wednesday, September 2.

The Craft Warehouse Creative Card-Making Contest

Show off your creative genius or try your hand for the first time in this crafty contest; either way, you'll have tons of fun and come away with your own masterpiece! Register the day of the contest (Friday, September 4) and receive the materials to create your card. There will be two divisions: Children Ages 6-13 and Adults 14 and older.

The Craft Warehouse Fabulous Red Hat and Fancy Hat Adorn Contest

This is it ladies! This is the contest to show your saucy side and come away with a beautifully decorated BY YOU, and definitely one-of-a-kind, RED HAT.  You'll need to hurry and sign-up at 1 pm on Tuesday, September 1 inside the Americraft Center, Jackman-Long Building.  Because supplies and hats are limited, entry to the first 25 individuals or teams who sign up!
