Pacific NW Best BBQ! - Professional Level Competition
Friday-Sunday, August 28-30th - Pacific NW BBQ Association presents... The 3rd Annual NW Best BBQ Competition - On Friday, August 28th, more than 30 professional cooking teams will take over the north end of Picnic Grove. Teams will battle for three days and three nights during the 2009 Oregon State Fair. Brought to you by the Pacific Northwest BBQ Association in cooperation with the Oregon State Fair, this competition will pit professional cooking teams from 15 western states against each other in a battle for BIG prize money.

Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm - near the Floral Garden - County Fair to State Fair Competition
The 2009 Oregon State Fair will play host to “Foster Farms Big Cluck Grill-off” featuring cooking teams from 16 county fair’s battling for statewide bragging rights and great prizes on Saturday August 29th. Enter to compete at your county fair and win great prizes...including a Traeger Grill!
ADVANCING TO STATE FAIR Each county fair’s winning entry will automatically qualify for the Oregon State Fair Championship to be held Saturday, August 29th near the Floral Gardens. The County Fairs second winning entry will be the alternative contestant.

The 2009 Oregon State Fair will play host to “Big Cluck Grill-off” featuring cooking teams from county fairs battling for statewide bragging rights and great prizes on Saturday August 29, 2009. Cooking teams with their grilling equipment will be located on the north end of the Floral Garden. Just beyond the grilling competition area, visitors will enjoy wine patio with live entertainment in the floral garden.
A very special thanks goes to Foster Farms and Traeger Grills for their generous support and help in coordinating the grilling events. Foster Farms is providing all participating counties and the state fair with great Oregon chicken for grilling, and all categories of prizes, including a Traeger Wood Pellet Grills at every participating county fair!
During the State Fair’s competition, cooking teams with their own grilling equipment or using a Traeger grill. Near the grilling competition area, visitors can enjoy wine tasting and the wine patio with live entertainment. Each county’s top grilling team will compete for the grand prize of the big Traeger Texas BBQ grill!

Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009 near the Floral Garden - County Fair to State Fair Competition - The Oregon State Fair is proud to announce the Painted Hills Natural Beef Grilling Contest. Painted Hills Natural Beef has generously agreed to sponsor this fun and exciting competition that will begin at participating county fairs and culminate at the State Fair competition on Sunday, August 30, 2009 near the Floral Garden. Grilling teams will be provided with Painted Hills Natural Beef for grilling, team gifts, great prizes at all participating county fairs and the Oregon State Fair! Grilling teams from all across Oregon competed on Sunday, August 24, 2008 in the beautiful Floral Garden at the Oregon State Fair. The Oregon State Fair was the place each team from various county fairs wanted to get to compete for 'statewide bragging rights' in the Painted Hills Natural Beef Backyard Grilling Championship Contest.
