Lego Robotics Challenges
4-H is sponsoring opportunities for the public to participate in Lego Robotics at the Oregon State Fair. Please contact Sara Miller at: sara.miller@oregonstate.edu to register.
Challenge 3: Catapult/Trebuchet
Cost 4 Marshmallows for $1.00
Sign up at the 4-H State Fair office when you arrive at the fair. Bring your own Catapult/Trebuchet to the fair on (August 30, 2010 from 4 PM - 6PM) to participate in the Catapult Challenge. Catapult/Trebuchet must be made entirely of Lego pieces. Rubber bands or cotton thread are also acceptable. Catapults will be launching large marshmallows.

4-H members from across the state will be competing at the State Fair in a variety of contests - and will have many exhibits on display. Please see the schedule of events or visit the 4-H website for further schedule and exhibitor information.

Lego Building Contest
4-H will again offer a free build contest in the 4-H Building. A free build table will be available for anyone that would like to spend some time construction a Lego Creation. Themes will be available for each days contest, and winners for each day will be on display.
To register for the Lego Building Contest you may come to the office in the 4-H Exhibit Building and sign-in to take part in the activity while at the fair. If you want to register before fair, contact your local county Extension office and they will forward your name, address and phone number to the State 4-H Office which is helping to coordinate this event.
FFA
FFA students from across the state will bring their exhibits and competitive spirits to the 2010 Oregon State Fair in hopes of becoming a champion! Their hardwork and dedication to their projects and exhibits will culminate with the activites listed below:
- FFA Ag Mechanics, Nursery, Landscape, Wool Displays will be inside the FFA Pavilion and near the Livestock Pavilion all days of fair
- FFA Horse Show will be August 25 – August 26, 2010
- FFA Livestock competitions will be August 27 - August 30, 2010
- FFA Alumni Social will be held on August 30, 2010
- FFA Awards & Scholarship Presentations will be held on August 30, 2010
